Your directors are current W. P. Carey students who fell in love with Camp Carey as freshmen. Learn a little bit more about the students who will show you the ropes literally, because there’s a ropes course – and make sure you’re having a blast at Camp Carey.
My name is Karla Calzadias and I’m studying Business Communications with a minor in Digital Audiences and a certificate in International Business. I am originally from Las Vegas, Nevada but grew up in San Tan Valley, Arizona. Aside from being a Camp Carey Student Director, I am also the Marketing Director for the Hispanic Business Students Association, I’m also a Peer Advisor, and I will be studying abroad in Barcelona, Spain this upcoming fall! Although I have so many favorite Camp Carey memories, the one that stands out the most is when I was a facilitator last summer and my group decided to dance around camp to the Black-Eyed Peas song called “My Humps”! My group really bonded over this and we laughed all camp about it!
Mariah Larronde is so excited to be a part of this year’s Camp Carey student director team! She is a sophomore majoring in Business Management with intentions to add a second major in Business Communications. Mariah grew up in Gilbert, Arizona where she graduated from Gilbert High School and found her passion for business. Now finishing up her second year at ASU, Mariah has involved herself as a member of Kappa Delta Sorority and the Sun Devil Salsa Club. Her favorite memory from Camp Carey was when she was a freshman at camp entering into W. P. Carey. On the last night of camp, a large group of campers, facilitators, and directors took over the basketball courts and had a camper vs. staff dance battle. It was epic!
My name is Jessica Perica and I am majoring in Marketing with minors in Film & Media Production and Design Studies. I was born and raised in Phoenix, Arizona. In addition to being a Camp Carey Student Director I am the Director of Marketing for AdWorks, VP of Finance for American Marketing Association, and a member of Delta Sigma Pi. My favorite Camp Carey memory is when I was a camper my facilitator introduced me to new people who turned out to be some of my best friends even to this day. As a facilitator, my favorite memory was meeting all the other facilitators who had the same passion for Camp Carey that I did.
Jacob is Tempe, AZ native studying Business Communication. He is currently involved in Investment Banking and Consulting Club and Financial Management Association. My Camp Carey Memory is playing and winning at survivor with my team. We all grew really close after that game.
Alexis Redden was born and raised in Gilbert Arizona and is currently a Marketing Major with a Minor in Psychology. Alexis is a Sigma Kappa Points Chair and a member of Phi Sigma Pi National Honors Fraternity. She loved getting to know her campers as a facilitator last year. “By the end of the camp, we had so many inside jokes that we couldn’t keep them straight! I still talk to some of my campers even today!”
My name is Jacob Schuldt and I am majoring in Accountancy here at the W. P. Carey School of Business. I am from the west valley in Peoria, Arizona and I am currently a desk assistant at Career Services, a Student Supervisor with the Alumni Relations Team and a Camp Carey Director. My favorite Camp Carey memory is playing volleyball with my fellow facilitators and making friends that I still have to this day.
